The “Diet Doc”, WNBF Pro Dr Joe Klemczewski

This week on Natural Bodybuilding Radio, hosts John Hansen and Mike Neumann talk to Dr. Joe Klemczewski, the "Diet Doc". Dr. Joe previews his upcoming INBF/WNBF contest this weekend, the Natural Mid-America Classic in Evansville, Indiana. Dr. Joe also offers insight into how much cardio is necessary during contest prep for the Natural Bodybuilder, his views on where the WNBF stands in regards to other natural organizations and why the WNBF enforces an exclusivity contract with their athletes.

In the opening segment, John and Mike discuss which Natural Bodybuilding organizations are on the rise and which ones are declining as well as the drug-testing polices in effect by each organization.

Philip Ricardo and Nicole Weeks

This week on Natural Bodybuilding Radio, hosts John Hansen and Mike Neumann review the IFPA Pro USA competition that took place on July 17th in Sacramento, California. First, promoters Tina Smith and Bob Bell explain the drug-testing procedures and review the competition. Then, Pro Men's winner Philip Ricardo joins John and Mike to talk about his impressive victory over Kiyoshi Moody and Cleveland Thomas.

In the second half of the show, Pro Figure competitor Nicole Weeks is the guest. Nicole, last year's runner-up at the IFPA Yorton Cup, talks about how she became a figure competitor and then candidly explains the differences in the top Natural Bodybuilding organizations and why she competes in the IFPA. Nicole is not afraid to speak her mind about the reality of the Natural Bodybuilding and Figure world so check out what she has to say.

The NANBF with Fred Rowlett and Dave Yeates

Our special guests today come to us from the NANBF. They are NANBF President Fred Rowlett, and Vice President Dave Yeates. You can visit their website at http://www.nanbf.org/

In the early 80’s, the North American National Bodybuilding Association (NANBA), was founded by Jim Evans in Minnesota with a goal to promote drug tested body building shows.

Through the 80’s and early 90’s, under the leadership of Jim Evans and later Lee Graese, the association became the leader in the drug free movement. The organization then changed leadership and the momentum was lost. Problems developed and the organization began to struggle.

In 1994, the state chair people, regional chair people, and promoters met and decided that a new direction, and in essence, a new beginning was required. Three individuals stepped forward to head up the reorganization: Scot Dickerson from Des Moines, Iowa; Dave Cammon from Flint, MI; and Todd Mills from Omaha, NE. Under their leadership a new organization was formed and the North American National Bodybuilding Federation was born.

It’s a very special day as John Hansen embarks on his second year of broadcasting Natural Bodybuilding Radio (nbbr)! John welcomes a great friend and colleague as his new co-host, natural bodybuilder and competitor Mike Neumann; followed by special guest, Rich Fitter.

In our First Segment we get a chance to learn about Mike and his passion for the sport of natural bodybuilding. Then, hear about all the events coming up this week; as well as results from some of the recent contests.

In Segment Two, John and Mike are joined by Rich Fitter, an accomplished competitive bodybuilder himself; as well as the Editorial Director of Natural Bodybuilding & Fitness Magazine and the newly appointed Chairman of the INBF and the WNBF. What changes are in store for the magazine and the sport in general as Rich sees it?

In Segment Three, Rich rejoins John and Mike and they tackle the controversial subject of banning competitors from competition, for a variety of reasons. Case(s) in point…Dave Goodin’s and Angela Mraz’ suspensions are explored.

These subjects and many more are tackled, naturally, by John, Mike, and Rich in today’s show.
