“Champions in Uniform” Philip Ricardo and Tamiko Shibata

Join host John Hansen as Champions in Uniform, Philip Ricardo and Tamiko Shibata give us the low-down on what its like to serve actively in the United States Marines while winning and maintaining their rigorous training regimins.

Being a Marine isn’t exactly a 9-5 job; and you can’t order your meals the way you like ‘em too often. So how do they handle the job, while training for a contest? What about family? How do they manage their time and duties? What’s their secret? John Hansen asks all the questions and gives great insight into the mind of a champion.

Here’s a little of what Philip Ricardo has to say about himself: Greetings! My name is Philip Manuel Ricardo Jr., and I am a 35 year old active duty Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps stationed at United States Southern Command in Miami , Florida . I am a Musclemania Professional Bodybuilder and personal trainer at LA Fitness in Pembroke Pines as well. The year 2006 was a tremendous year for me in Bodybuilding as I finally realized my dream of becoming a Musclemania Pro by winning the overall Musclemania Superbody. I also placed 2nd in my very first Musclemania Pro show, Musclemania Worlds, to a great competitor and friend David Whitaker.

I am stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station in Miramar , California as, of August 2007 where I will soon be sent to Iraq for duty. I have been competing for 14 years and have competed in many organizations and levels of competition and have always been a finalist in each show.

Listen-in and hear more from these two “Champions in Uniform”.

    LOL Leigh,

Yes, very unfortunate. Sad for this great radio show to be blighted with this. I might suggest removing the podcast and editing her out.
